SUN RUN

The Unit started going to the Sun Run in 2003, with 20 Explorers, in 2004 21 Explorers, in 2005 23 Explorers, in 2006 14 Explorers.

As you can see by the numbers the young people enjoy the event.

In 2004 we had a team that was very close to wining the 17 & under male race they were 1 minute behind the winners, so they came back in 2005 out to win, which they did in a time of 4:50. Sadly in 2006 the same team was unable to win as one member was pulled out due to injury.

In 2006 we entered 3 teams, as mentioned above one team was unable to win due to injury but the other two teams won there age events. We won the 17 & under mixed team in a time of 6:43 and 17 & under male team in a time of 5:50.
