Miskin Sleepover
(Better Late Than Never.....)
The Afon District Explorers were invited to Miskin for their annual sleep over (sleep not!!!!) and "Better Late Than Never..." Christmas party.
The event started at 5pm; Xboxes, Playstations, P.S.P.'s & Risk at the ready.
The tables were set for a two course meal of turkey and sponge cake!! Party poppers were put on the tables, reluctantly!!!
The Explorers started as they meant to carry on. One group started playing "Halo", with a stereo in the background to add to the effects. They finished playing at 8:30am, with only a break in the middle for food and a go at air rifle shooting. Great stamina!
Some of the girls set up a play station with a dance mat. They were soon where joined by some of the boys!!!!
Upstairs in the Mill I set up a data projector with a DVD. The Explorers choose to watch "Fame", "Lee Evans" and a few more titles. While this was going on Emily danced her way through some of the films.
At about 1:30am a group and myself started to play "Risk". It took over 4 hours for me to achieve world domination!!!
There were a few that could not handle the pace and had to go to sleep (5 leaders included). Poor performance!!!
The event finished with bacon sarnies for breakfast. Parents picked up the Explorers at 9:30am. This gave the leaders some time to do the finial tidying up and then we all went home to catch up on some much needed sleep.
The event was well attended by 25 Explorers and 7 leaders.
Can I take this opportunity to thank all the leaders for their time and effort in running this event, and especially to Becki, for roping in her future mother-in-law in to prepare and cook our Christmas dinner!!
