Area Explorer Camp and Linked Event 2006

The event started at 7pm on Friday. the explorer had to put the tents up and then they where able to socialise with the other units. they had the "chill" to do this!!
On Saturday there was an early start to get to Channel View leisure centre for the days activities, these were indoor rowing, open canoeing, problem solving, sailing, bell boating and raft building. The Explorers had an hour on each activity. JP won the indoor rowing, he completed 1198 meters in 4 minutes and Gareth won for his age group with 1048 meters in 4 minutes.
On Saturday evening again the "chill" was open but before that me had a camp fire!
The Network came at 11.30pm and took the 16+ Explorers away (19 in total). they use this event to link with the older Explorers, The Explorer had to hike to another Campsite where they slept in proper beds and showers! There were woken with the smell of a full English breakfast and then they had some fun and games!

On Sunday a bit more leisurely morning, with activities not starting until 10am. The activities that the Explorers could take part in were Slider Hockey, Rockets, Air Rife Shooting, Archery, Crate Stacking, Caving, Plaster Masks, Face Painting, Blow Football & Bungee Run.
After all that excitement the camp close at around 2pm and Tent where put away Dry!!!
